Max and Bart ...Horse logging is making a dramatic return to the forest industry as an alternative to modern mechanical logging. This age old method provides a means of working with machinery in a more sensitive manner to the forest, imitating what happens in the natural order things that occur in the bush.

It's a cool morning in the Robson Valley. The mist is rising in the golden forest, sunbeams spiking through the pines, to warm the massive Belgian horses waiting patiently for the day's work to begin.

Come along with Tonio Bachrach as we learn about double trees, half Sweeneys, point of draft, belly bands and much more. We'll follow Bart and Max, admiring their prompt responses to commands of "gee, haw, skip and back", as Tonio guides them through their paces. Find out how this method of logging not only leaves the site as good as it was, but actually enhances the forest. Max and Bart at work
